Why is this training important? 

Food Safety training develops the knowledge and confidence to enable staff to produce and serve safe food and drink. It is a legal requirement that all food handlers receive training in line with their responsibilities and job role.

People preparing, cooking or handling food which other people will consume.

Food Safety training is a requirement of all food businesses, non-compliance can impact on the Food Hygiene rating given to your establishment. This can affect customer’s choices – check the Food Standards Agency for the ratings in your area.

How long is the course?
The Level 2 Award Food Safety in Catering is a one day course. Starting at 0930 and finishing at 1630.
Are there any entry requirements?
No, but as the course is delivered in English a basic understanding is required.
How is the course assessed?
By 20 multiple choice questions, you will need to answer 12 correctly to receive the award. These can be completed verbally, please let us know before the day if you will need this option.
When will I know if I have passed?
Results are usually with us within 3 weeks and the certificates are sent, first class, signed for, Royal Mail delivery.
Do I need to bring anything?

You will need proof of identification such as passport, driving licence or a signed bank card. This is a requirement of the Awarding Body HABC, Hiighfield Awarding Body for Compliance.

We supply tea, coffee and biscuits but not lunch. There is an on-site cafe or local shops if you wish to purchase lunch.

What is the cost?
The cost is £70 (plus VAT) per person. Group discounts are available for 6 or more people.
